From Storytelling to Strategy: Jack's Journey at Thinktown
I joined Thinktown in 2020 as a Senior Educational Consultant, hoping to merge my love for storytelling with my passion for education. Nearly five years later, I serve as Global Business Services Manager, overseeing operations for our Essay Management Desk while leading product development for our film subject—balancing student-facing consulting with team leadership and strategic innovation.
In my first role, I worked with students eager to sharpen their creative writing—from portfolios for Ivy League hopefuls to screenplays exploring bold new storytelling forms. Soon after, I took on the management of our Essay Management Desk, an internal quality control department supporting a global team of Brainstorming and Editing Specialists. In this capacity, I streamline workflows, boost operational efficiency, and help ensure our consultants deliver consistently high-quality work to clients.
Meanwhile, as Business Product Manager for our Film subject, I’ve developed project-based learning courses, subject-specific advisory services, and supported students in every facet of filmmaking, cross-disciplinary media production, and critical analysis.
These experiences have taught me that innovation isn’t just about generating big ideas—it’s about building systems that allow those ideas to thrive. Leading cross-functional, international teams has strengthened my ability to bridge cultural and disciplinary differences, coordinate expertise across time zones, and keep the student experience at the heart of every decision.
I’m excited to keep expanding our film-focused offerings and exploring new technologies, including AI-driven tools, to better serve both our consultants and students.
